The Washington Post Calls for Renewed Panel Study of VT Shootings
Posted by Trevor Reid on August 3, 2009
An editorial in Sunday’s Washington Post joins the call for a re-convening of the Virginia Tech shooting panel. “Two years after Seung Hui Cho’s bloody killing spree on the campus of Virginia Tech, the news that his missing mental health records have suddenly turned up at the home of the university’s counseling center’s former director raises a raft of unsettling questions.” Victims’ families and survivors are now asking Virginia’s govenor to call back the panel and determine the impact of the documents as well as whether there was a cover up.
I’m not sure it makes much sense it makes to have the same panel that failed to lay hands on the documents the first time–they never followed the trail to the doctor’s door–to dig into the cover up allegations.
